Yoshihito Yokoyama
Yoshihito Yokoyama was born on January 25, 1963. He has been Associate Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hirosaki University Graduate School of Medicine, Aomori, Japan, since May 2011. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Hirosaki University, Aomori, Japan, in 1988 and 1992, respectively. His areas of expertise are gynecologic oncology, in particular ovarian carcinogenesis and therapeutic strategy of ovarian cancer. In 2001–2002, as a Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Fellowship Program for Japanese Scholars and Researchers to Study Abroad, Yokoyama worked at University of Cambridge and Harvard Medical School. He is the author or coauthor of approximately 120 research articles and the coauthor of Handbook of Immunohistochemistry and In Situ Hybridization of Human Carcinoma, Volume 4 molecular genetics, gastrointestinal carcinoma, and ovarian carcinoma, 2006. He is on the Editorial Board of European Journal Gynaecological Oncology since 2000. He was awarded a prize of an academic special prize of Hirosaki University School of Medicine for studying antiangiogenic effect of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha ligand on treatment of ovarian cancer in 2009., Japan
