Abstract

CAPD is an important mode of dialysis for end stage renal failure patients. However, CAPD associated peritonitis remains a challenge with increasing number of cases reported leading to significant morbidity and mortality. CAPD peritonitis caused by non tuberculous Mycobacterium(NTM) is often under-recognized and associated with poor outcome. We reported two cases of Mycobacterium abscessus CAPD peritonitis at our centre with different clinical outcomes. The first patient responded well to the antimicrobial therapy while the second patient succumbed to the infection.
